The device is used for controlling the level of conductive liquids within a tank or irrigation well.
It is connected to hanging-type electrodes.
It is installed in an electrical panel on a standard relay socket.
The operating principle of the device is based on the measurement of the difference in resistance between electrodes. The relay is activated when the liquid level reaches the top electrode and is released when the level falls below the middle electrode.
The lowest of the three electrodes is used as reference, and can be replaced by the ground when the tank is made of a conductive material. The use of safe, low AC voltage between electrodes prevents the phenomenon of electrolysis. The overall resistance between electrodes should be less then 20 kΩ.
